Muhammad Ali was surely the most famous American professional boxer. But he was also one of the most significant and celebrated sports figures of the 20th century, an activist, an inspiring, controversial, and polarizing figure both inside and outside the ring. After his first fight against Sonny Liston he changed his name from Cassius Clay to Cassius X and then to Muhammad Ali. Ali died this year, on June 3, 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
My last dataviz is again on sports, but he was something more than an athlete. This graphic analyzes Ali career from is first match against Tunney Hunsaker to the last one, lost against Trevor Berbick after 10 round. In his career Ali won 56 boxing matches with only 5 matches lost.
As many italians I am really passionate about football. Sports are very interesting from the perspective of data. There are a lot of stats you can analyze, using different graphic forms. This time I decided to look at Mauro Icardi's goal stats.
Mauro Icardi is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a striker and serves as captain for Italian club Internazionale. He is also one of the best bomber in Serie A. He joined Inter in 2013, and during the 2014–15 season, he was the joint winner of the Capocannoniere title, awarded to the top scorer in Serie A. He was the youngest Capocannoniere until 1978, when Paolo Rossi awarded the title at 21 years old.
This season Mauro Icardi is updating his amazing stats. With 15 goals in 20 appearances he is leading the top scorer ranking.
This Data Visualization analyzes Mauro Icardi's amazing goal stats. An heat map with its different shading records the position in wich Icardi scored his goals. On the right the silhouette reports the parts of the body with which he has scored.

In this dataviz I analized the last 50 years of italian Republic. We've seen alternating at Palazzo Chigi 21 different Prime Minister and 43 governments, one every 1.16 years.
Silvio Berlusconi, with 3312 days as Prime Minister, is the politician more present at Palazzo Chigi, overcoming one of the leading actor of the history of the Republic, Giulio Andreotti.
Andreotti is the politician with the largest number of offices. Seven times Prime Minister. Andreotti served as the 41st Prime Minister of Italy from 1972 to 1973, from 1976 to 1979 and from 1989 to 1992. Andreotti was also Prime Minister of the "National Solidarity" government with the support of the PCI, wich refrained the vote of confidence.
The government ended on December 7 is the fourth longest in the republican history, with 1019 days. Matteo Renzi is ranked tenth among the Prime Minister for the task duration.

The 2016 was a year sadly marked by terrorism. The Brussels attacks in March, the massacre of Nice on the evening of July 14, 2016, the attack to the Christmas markets in Berlin, which has tragically ended the year. Italy had only suffer minor accidents until now, but we suddenly found the world's attention on 23 December, with the arrest of Anis Amri, author of the massacre of Berlin.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Somalia, Turkey. These are the countries most affected by terrorism. Based on data collected on Wikipedia, during the last year there were attacks each month and in every part of the world, mainly made by exstremist Islamic groups.

My last dataviz analyzes the impact of international terrorism during the 2016. My ispirations were A World of Terror, a project realized by Periscopic, and the work of Accurat and Giorgia Lupi, who always try to experiment with new visual metaphors, with the intention of making things not just understandable but also appealing.
The graphic analyzes some of the most active groups last year. As shown in legend, every scheme is a kind of small calendar, where were scored the major attacks of the different organizations. Each column is a month of 2016, day by day, from the top down. Intuitively, the more numerous the points are in this central part, the more the group was active during the year. Above and below the small bar graphs help to quantify victims (in red) and injured / kidnapped (in blue), month by month. Each petal on the left side represent a continent. A red petal indicates the presence of the terrorist group in the continent to which it refers, gray petals instead indicate the absence of activity in that area. More petals turn red, the higher the group's ability to move and carry out attacks on several continents.
