I'm Filippo Mastroianni

As Data Visualization Specialist, Filippo helps organizations make data driven decisions. He worked in different sectors, helping clients make sense of their data and embraces a new analytical culture. He has also several years of experience in online and print media as data journalist, designing engaging graphics and writing news stories for Il Sole24Ore and other media organizations. He has ability to pitch and write balanced, informative and compelling news stories to tight deadlines, remaining calm under pressure. Serie A Transfer Market

It's time to get back to work, after the deserved break. And with it also a new football season started two weeks ago.

Every year summer means not only holiday and sea, but also tranfer market. For this reason I collected and analysed  transfer market data with and .

First of all, with the help of Federica Ferrarini, one of the best with Alteryx, I collected data from Tranfertmarkt, and created my dataset thanks to this Alteryx workflow:



After that I started working on Tableau, building my Viz. I choose to use a kind if graph I never used before. A radar chart to show where every team spent more money to improve their group of players (in percentage). This graph is interesting to show multiple variables, but they need to be organised in a way that make sense to the reader.

Mauro Icardi's Goal Stats

As many italians I am really passionate about football. Sports are very interesting from the perspective of data. There are a lot of stats you can analyze, using different graphic forms. This time I decided to look at Mauro Icardi's goal stats.

Mauro Icardi  is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a striker and serves as captain for Italian club Internazionale. He is also one of the best bomber in Serie A. He joined Inter in 2013, and during the 2014–15 season, he was the joint winner of the Capocannoniere title, awarded to the top scorer in Serie A. He was the youngest Capocannoniere until 1978, when Paolo Rossi awarded the title at 21 years old.

This season Mauro Icardi is updating his amazing stats. With 15 goals in 20 appearances he is leading the top scorer ranking.
